Joyce was killed after rescuing a fellow soldier who fell 70 ’ fastroping from a helicopter.  The soldier said that Casey’s efforts to get him evacuated during a furious fire fight, was the reason he was alive today.  A Ranger CSM wrote: “Joyce was the epitome of what a Ranger was supposed to be.  Sometimes you meet people that right off the bat you know are ‘special,’ Casey was one of those folks.”         RIP  Rangers lead the way!
