Earnest M. (Bobby) Yantis, Granbury, TX, received the DSC for extraordinary heroism during WWI, Sept 30, 1918.  Leading his platoon in France under intense fire ahead of the front line, Yantis was wounded 3 times, but remained on duty for more than an hour when he was finally relieved.  He fought in the battles of Chauteau Thierry, Argonne & Belleau Woods.   He also served with the 4th Inf Div in the Philippines 1903-04
